The First Year!!!

So you could say that the first year of Owen's life just flew by and Tom & I enjoyed ever minute of it to say the least!!(Even those first six months of sleep deprivation!!) So I thought I would do a little year in review of Owen's major accomplishments!!

Month One: Started cooing and first cold.
Month Two: First Laugh
Month Three: Started grabbing items with his hands.
Month Four: Turned from tummy to back. Holding and grasping with his hands. Moved to his crib in his own room!!
Month Five: Started doing zerberts!! Also started eating rice & oatmeal.
Month Six: SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT (Yea!!!!!), rolling over, sitting with assistance, and scooting a bit.
Month Seven: Sitting on his own and scooting around.
Month Eight: First TWO teeth!!!(bottom) Going from a crawling to a sitting position.
Month Nine: Clapping, standing, pulling up, even traveling a little bit. Also, he started picking up foods.
Month Ten: CRUISING!! Four more teeth (top ones this time). Standing alone and trying table foods.
Month Eleven: Lots of cruising, stacking and high fives!!
Month Twelve: Pointing, first steps, waving and WALKING!!! Not to mention that he finally got to try PB&J. LOVED IT!! He's taking after his dad who is a PB&J addict!!

Christmas in North Carolina!!

So on the 27th, we headed to North Carolina to visit Sallie, Uncle Ron, Aunt Reed, and cousins- Jack, Ben & Sam!! We also had the pleasure of seeing Aunt Reed's mom "E", who was visiting from Texas. Owen did great on the nearly nine hour drive and we were all very happy to have finally gotten there on Sunday. We all had a great dinner and later Sallie and the kids opened their presents. Owen had a couple of firsts while on this trip - he learned to climb the stairs and he also played the piano!!! Owen also had lots of fun playing with his cousins and spending time with Sallie.

Santa & His Reindeer!!

One of Owen's favorite things about Christmas this year was the flying Santa and his reindeer residing at Grammy & Granddad's house. Every time we went to visit, this was the first thing Owen wanted to see. I think this will be one of Owen's favorites for years to come.

Christmas 2009 - Part II

Later that afternoon we headed over to Grammy & Granddad's. We opened presents and had a wonderful Christmas dinner. We couldn't have asked for a better day!!

Owen's 2nd Christmas!!

We all had a wonderful Christmas this year. Last year Owen slept through most of the holiday so this year was quite the exception!! We spent Christmas Eve at Aunt Linda & Uncle Tom's house with lots of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Owen woke up at his usual time on Christmas to find that Santa did indeed come to visit!!! There were puppets, turtles and trains - oh my!! We made homemade cinnamon swirls for breakfast that your divine, if I might say so myself!!

More Birthday Pics: The Details

I just wanted to do another birthday post to show a few of the special decorations for the party. Especially, the "Pin the Tail on the Monkey" that Tom made. I've included the adorable invitations and hats I found on etsy and the monkey favors and yes, he's hugging a coconut!!.

So having mommy brain, I totally forgot to let Owen dig into his own cake. So we took his cake over to Grammy & Granddad's and let him go at it!!

First Birthday!!!!

Owen turned one on Saturday!!! Our little baby is growing up soo fast. In order to celebrate, we threw our little monkey a party!! We had lots of friends and family join us for cake, monkey cupcakes, ice cream and games. We think everybody had a great time and Owen received lots of wonderful gifts.
